Sexual Abuse Insurance | Misconduct and Molestation
We offer sexual abuse, misconduct and molestation insurance, also called SAM insurance, to all types of organizations in 35 states. The coverage is often purchased by organizations that interact with minors or disabled adults and provides protection against allegations of abuse, molestation or misconduct of a sexual nature. The coverage however applies to any minor or adult individual who alleges that they are the victim of sexual abuse, misconduct or molestation by an insured person of the organization.
We offer sexual abuse and misconduct insurance as either a standalone policy or as an endorsement to a professional liability insurance policy. The policies are offered on a claims made basis, which means that it's the policy that is in force at the time of the claim that responds to such claim. In order for a claim to be covered, the wrongful act that gave rise to the claim must be on or after the retroactive date, which is usually the inception date of the first policy that was purchased, where the sexual abuse and molestation coverage has been maintained without interruption.
The sexual abuse and molestation coverage tends to be more comprehensive when purchased as a standalone policy rather than as an endorsement to a professional liability insurance policy as a standalone policy can offer additional coverages, such as crisis management, forensic and investigatory, and victim support services. Also, the sexual abuse and molestation coverage under a standalone policy is often extended to not only employees and officers, but also volunteers and independent contractors.
